Values

When I showed my post about what Republicans want to a friend he said the Republicans are adrift. They have no VALUES. They stand for nothing. This jibes with my claim that all they do now is promote hate and fear for votes. Sadly, that works. So, here’s a document outlining the v alues/position of the progressive caucus of the house of representatives. It’s lengthy and detailed. It uses action verbs to express actual goals. I decided to look for Republican values and compare them to that list of Progressive Values. First of all here’s a pretty lame explanation of why the RNC decided to forge ahead with NO PLATFORM IN 2020.    And notice that last bit: RESOLVED, That any motion to amend the 2016 Platform or to adopt a new platform, including any motion to suspend the procedures that will allow doing so, will be ruled out of order On to their values.  Well, here it is. What DO you want?

  [As we march toward the 2024 elections I find that I need to vent on occasion. I look forward to comments!] Dear Republicans, You seem to want Trump for president again. But what do you WANT? In 2020 your party, for the first time in history, ran a presidential campaign with no platform. No plan. No goals for the country. No promises.  Just “Vote for Me!” - pure hucksterism. Does that not concern you? Thinking there is a guy who just has all the answers, no matter what, is dangerous to the democracy. It tells the rest of the country and the rest of the world that the Republican Party has lost its vision. To my memory, Republicans used to be the party of less government, conservative spending, lower the debt, support the military party. Now you seem to be afraid of EVERYTHING.
