Well, Donald at least we’ll always have Paris

 Or not. Once again Trump as dropped US out of the Paris Climate Accord. He tried this once before but then there was a 4 year wait before you could be officially dropped so he just forgot about it as he tends to do. Now there is only a one year wait to be officially dropped. Interestingly, his announcement doesn’t even mention Paris. He has started something called, “Putting America First in the Climate Agreements”. (PAFCA?) It’s not clear what this even means or what the plans are. He does say that his Putting America first blah, blah, blah … will include, “Make America affordable and energy dominant again," including "by reviewing for rescission all regulations that impose undue burdens on energy production and use. Well that’s pretty clear. Sounds like support for oil and gas to me. Orange Jump Suits for the White House

 Congratulations half of America. You've gotten a convicted felon elected president. Nice one. Know that this is a first and by a long shot. But what is sadder than the bald fact of a felon in the white house. Is how he exhibited his usual crass behavior as the accused. It is immeasurably sad. But the conviction, historic though it is, is not the worst thing about this sordid case. The worst thing in my view is Trump’s persistent and repeated attacks on the judge, the judge’s family, the jury pool, the motives of the prosecutor, and—just as baselessly—on Biden and the Department of Justice, who of course had nothing to do with bringing this indictment. (from Robert Gordon, Stanford Law School ) Lord knows where this leads. He knows he's basically untouchable and will try to stretch the envelope even farther. Good news - under-educated megalomaniacs never succeed in the long run.  Hang in and RESIST.

 Thank You Donald Trump Thank you for setting the bar so low. Thinking about all the people I’ve known, worked with, related to…that’s a LOT of people. I can’t think of even one person I’ve ever interacted with (and I’m 74) who was even close to being has horrible as you. To tell the truth, I didn’t even know that people as evil and despicable as you even existed outside of fiction, Hitler, and the movies. You called a group of white supremacists “some nice fellows’. You made fun of a special needs guy right in front of him. The list is endless. But there you are in the White House. The only thing I can think of is that about half the country is as big an asshole as you and they love that it’s working for you. So, thanks again, I enjoy my friends and family even more now because none of them are you.

 Time's Man of the Year   Guess who! You know, when you have to accompany the interview with extensive fact checks , maybe you picked the wrong guy. Doing an interview like this just gives his grossness another avenue to spew his lies and false claims include, to my horror, going back to this old and much discredited idea that vaccines are somehow connected to autism. They are not. Vaccines have saved billions of people over many, many decades. Why does he do this shit?  Peace

The Boys from January 6

These guys are all getting presidential pardons:   Who was their leader? Who said, "On to the Capital". How many people were injured or killed? Who was president at the time and didn't call out the National Guard? Is this the America you grew up with. And yet. . .and yet, you elected HIM president.  If you think something good will come of putting him back in office . . .how deluded half of us are. Actually a little less than half again.

Here I (we) Go Again

 Yes, the worst possible thing has happened. Yes it's bad. On the other hand, my half full glass tells me that because I've been here before, and Mr. T is soooo predictable, I'll be able to slip into the state I was in between 2016 and 2020. I try to not respond to the daily bad news. It's bad that that's exactly what ALL news outlets like to report be they left or right leaning. I catch headlines. I read things from Indivisible-Chicago. I know he's going to pick goofballs to run programs. If I write a rant once a week or so then those damaging thoughts are let out and I can breathe again. And contribute to the ongoing efforts via Indivisible.  Half, almost exactly half, this country hates him and is disgusted with his programs and him as person. He will fail. He will fail because he will only hire people that faun over him and have no actual skill at running anything let alone a branch of the federal government. In the meantime it will get ugly.
